To make sure in the Shape

Beyond Adobe can make any size, shape, or type of adobe brick you want, and is also able to make custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They'll use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, depending on the client and circumstances.

Environment - Pressed adobe blocks, best known as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are manufactured employing a mixture of present day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by utilizing hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost totally dry and prepared for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and more efficient installation because of their uniformity of size and shape. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which boosts the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be created in most seasons due to the reduced moisture content.

Handmade, or puddled, adobe bricks begin each time a simple mixture of earth and water is mixed to a near mud consistency. The mixture will then be laid in forms on the floor to mold the mud to the desired brick shape and size. The proper execution is lifted off the adobe once the mud dries enough to maintain the adobes shape minus the form. Following a day or two regarding, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process can take in one to a month to completely cure depending on conditions. Puddled adobes result in bricks having a more individual shape, size and appearance; no two bricks are very the identical. They offer for any unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed in a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and those with difficult access, site made adobes often work best for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe has created bricks from your borderlands of Mexico towards the farm country of Montana.
