Beyond Adobe maintains adobe production yards in Camp Verde, Arizona and Deming, Boise state broncos. They regularly work through the entire American West utilizing local soils for on-site adobe production, for urban and rural projects. They like working with individuals and communities alike to develop, preserve and restore earth buildings. It's all regulated inside the Shape

Beyond Adobe is likely to make any size, shape, or form of adobe brick you desire, and is capable of making custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to fulfill architectural demands. They will use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, with respect to the client and circumstances.

Environment - Pressed adobe blocks, best known as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are manufactured using a mix of present day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by making use of hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost totally dry and prepared for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in the compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker plus more efficient installation because of their uniformity of size and shape. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which raises the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be produced in every seasons because of the reduced moisture content.

Hand made, or puddled, adobe bricks begin when a simple mixture of earth and water is mixed with a near mud consistency. The mix is then laid in forms on the floor to mold the mud to the desired brick size and shape. The proper execution is lifted off the adobe when the mud dries enough to keep the adobes shape minus the form. After having a day or two of sunshine, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process may take in one to four weeks to completely cure based on climate conditions. Puddled adobes lead to bricks using a more individual shape, size and look; no two bricks can be the identical. They supply to get a unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed in a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and those with difficult access, site made adobes often work best for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe makes bricks in the borderlands of Mexico to the farm country of Montana.

Finished to Fine Perfection

Earth plasters and natural clay plasters bring beautiful, appealing finishes of nature to adobe walls. Earth plasters certainly are a blend of pure clays and aggregates with coloring agents that can come from natural, non-toxic oxides and ochre mineral pigments. The plasters create stunning moods of their own, and a beautiful backdrop for art or wall hangings.

Natural clay plasters are organic and environmentally friendly in the their production and application. Their low embodied energy content makes then safe when applying within their completed form. They're extremely power efficient and help control temperature and humidity fluctuations: providing cooler climates in Summer, and warmer in the wintertime. They're also non-dusting, mold and fade resistant, and easily repairable.

Beyond Adobe produces their very own true, earth plaster. The plaster could be partially stabilized with lime or Portland cement. This earth plaster makes excellent base coats both for adobe and straw bale walls. Furthermore, additionally, it may serve as beautiful final plaster.
