It's all regulated in the Shape

Beyond Adobe will make any size, shape, or type of adobe brick you want, and it is capable of making custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, depending on the client and circumstances.

DIY - Pressed adobe blocks, commonly known as as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are made using a combination of modern day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by utilizing hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost dry and prepared for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in the compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and much more efficient installation due to their uniformity of size and shape. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which raises the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be created in all seasons because of the reduced moisture content.

Made by hand, or puddled, adobe bricks begin when a simple mix of earth and water is mixed with a near mud consistency. The mixture will be laid in forms on the ground to mold the mud into the desired brick size and shape. The proper execution is lifted off of the adobe if the mud dries enough to keep the adobes shape without the form. After having a day or two of sunshine, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process can take in one to one month to fully cure based on conditions. Puddled adobes bring about bricks having a more individual shape, size and look; no two bricks can be exactly the same. They supply for a unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed inside a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and people with difficult access, site made adobes often work most effectively for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe has made bricks from the borderlands of Mexico to the farm country of Montana.

Also, they are non-dusting, mold and fade resistant, and simply repairable.
