It's all regulated inside the Shape

Beyond Adobe is likely to make any size, shape, or type of adobe brick you want, and is creating custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, depending on the client and circumstances.

Earth - Pressed adobe blocks, best known as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are made using a mixture of modern day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by making use of hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost completely dry and ready for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and much more efficient installation for their uniformity of shape and size. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which increases the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be produced in all seasons because of the reduced moisture content.

Handmade, or puddled, adobe bricks begin when a simple combination of earth and water is mixed to a near mud consistency. A combination will then be laid in forms on the ground to mold the mud to the desired brick configuration. The proper execution is lifted off the adobe once the mud dries enough to help keep the adobes shape with no form. After having a couple of days regarding, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process may take in one to a month to completely cure based on conditions. Puddled adobes bring about bricks with a more individual shape, size and appearance; no two bricks are quite the identical. They provide to get a unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed in a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and those with difficult access, site made adobes often work most effectively for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe has created bricks from the borderlands of Mexico for the farm country of Montana.

Finished to Fine Perfection

Earth plasters and natural clay plasters bring beautiful, appealing finishes of nature to adobe walls.
