Beyond Adobe's goal would be to provide affordable, beautiful and sustainable methods to new and old homes out of the world's most power efficient and durable material: earth; now expands to providing individuals with their greatest tool of: knowledge, to create their own.

Beyond Adobe maintains adobe production yards in Camp Verde, Arizona and Deming, New Mexico. They regularly work throughout the American West utilizing local soils for on-site adobe production, for both urban and rural projects. They love working with individuals and communities alike to build up, preserve and restore earth buildings. It's all regulated in the Shape

Beyond Adobe can make any size, shape, or type of adobe brick you would like, and is able to make custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They will use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, with respect to the client and circumstances.

DIY - Pressed adobe blocks, sometimes known as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are made utilizing a mix of modern day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced through the use of hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost totally dry and prepared for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in the compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and much more efficient installation due to their uniformity of configuration. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which increases the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be created in every seasons as a result of reduced moisture content.

Hand made, or puddled, adobe bricks begin each time a simple mix of earth and water is mixed to a near mud consistency. The mix will then be laid in forms on a lawn to mold the mud into the desired brick size and shape. The form is lifted off the adobe if the mud dries enough to keep the adobes shape without the form. After having a few days of sunshine, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process will take in one to one month to fully cure based on climate conditions. Puddled adobes bring about bricks with a more individual shape, size and appearance; no two bricks can be exactly the same. They offer for a unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed in a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and those with difficult access, site made adobes often perform best for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe makes bricks in the borderlands of Mexico for the farm country of Montana.
