It's all regulated within the Shape

Beyond Adobe is likely to make any size, shape, or form of adobe brick you want, and is creating custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, with respect to the client and circumstances.

Environment - Pressed adobe blocks, commonly known as as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are made utilizing a combination of present day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by utilizing hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost dry and prepared for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and much more efficient installation due to their uniformity of shape and size. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which boosts the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be made in most seasons due to the reduced moisture content.

Hand made, or puddled, adobe bricks begin whenever a simple mix of earth and water is mixed to some near mud consistency. The mix will be laid in forms on the floor to mold the mud in to the desired brick configuration. The proper execution is lifted off of the adobe if the mud dries enough to maintain the adobes shape without the form. After a day or two associated with, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process will take in one to one month to totally cure depending on weather conditions. Puddled adobes bring about bricks with a more individual shape, size and appearance; no two bricks can be the same. They provide for any unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed inside a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and the ones with difficult access, site made adobes often perform best for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe makes bricks in the borderlands of Mexico towards the farm country of Montana.
