Handmade, or puddled, adobe bricks begin each time a simple mixture of earth and water is mixed with a near mud consistency. The mixture will then be laid in forms on the floor to mold the mud in to the desired brick configuration. The form is lifted from the adobe if the mud dries enough to help keep the adobes shape minus the form. After having a few days associated with, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process can take in one to four weeks to completely cure depending on climate conditions. Puddled adobes lead to bricks with a more individual shape, size and appear; no two bricks can be the identical.
