Beyond Adobe's goal would be to provide affordable, beautiful and sustainable answers to new and old homes out from the world's most energy efficient and sturdy material: earth; and today expands to providing people who have their greatest tool of: knowledge, to construct their own.

Beyond Adobe maintains adobe production yards in Camp Verde, Arizona and Deming, Boise state broncos. They regularly work through the American West utilizing local soils for on-site adobe production, for both urban and rural projects. They love dealing with individuals and communities alike to develop, preserve and restore earth buildings. It's All within the Shape

Beyond Adobe will make any size, shape, or kind of adobe brick you would like, and is also creating custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They'll use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, depending on the client and circumstances.

Earth - Pressed adobe blocks, sometimes known as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are manufactured using a combination of modern-day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by making use of hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost dry and prepared for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, in compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and more efficient installation for their uniformity of configuration. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which boosts the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be produced in most seasons due to the reduced moisture content.

Handmade, or puddled, adobe bricks begin whenever a simple mix of earth and water is mixed to a near mud consistency. A combination will then be laid in forms on the floor to mold the mud into the desired brick configuration. The form is lifted off of the adobe if the mud dries enough to help keep the adobes shape minus the form. After a day or two associated with, the bricks are placed on edge to dry. The drying process may take in one to four weeks to completely cure depending on conditions. Puddled adobes result in bricks using a more individual shape, size and appear; no two bricks can be the identical. They offer for a unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed inside a finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and people with difficult access, site made adobes often perform best for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe makes bricks from the borderlands of Mexico towards the farm country of Montana.
