Beyond Adobe can make any size, shape, or form of adobe brick you desire, and is capable of making custom colored bricks from specified dirt or special shaped adobes to satisfy architectural demands. They will use either pressed adobe, puddled adobe, or site made, based on the client and circumstances.

Environment - Pressed adobe blocks, sometimes known as compressed adobe bricks or Earth blocks, are made utilizing a mix of modern day technology and traditional earth building knowledge. Enhanced by making use of hydraulic presses and machine automation, the bricks emerge almost dry and ready for building. Pressed adobes provide significant increases in strength, both in compression and modulus of rupture, providing for quicker and more efficient installation because of their uniformity of shape and size. The hydraulic force increases soil density, which increases the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be created in all seasons due to the reduced moisture content.

Hand made, or puddled, adobe bricks begin each time a simple mix of earth and water is mixed to some near mud consistency. The mix will be laid in forms on the ground to mold the mud to the desired brick size and shape. The shape is lifted from the adobe if the mud dries enough to keep the adobes shape without the form. After a day or two associated with, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process will take from to four weeks to fully cure according to climate conditions. Puddled adobes lead to bricks with a more individual shape, size and appearance; no two bricks are quite the same. They supply to get a unique and pleasing aesthetic when left exposed in the finished wall.

Site made adobe bricks vary widely. For rural sites and those with difficult access, site made adobes often work most effectively for logistics and shipping costs. Beyond Adobe has made bricks from your borderlands of Mexico for the farm country of Montana.
