The hydraulic force increases soil density, which increases the bricks' thermal mass ratings. Pressed adobes can be created in every seasons as a result of reduced moisture content.

Hand made, or puddled, adobe bricks begin each time a simple combination of earth and water is mixed to a near mud consistency. A combination will then be laid in forms on a lawn to mold the mud into the desired brick shape and size. The shape is lifted from the adobe once the mud dries enough to maintain the adobes shape minus the form. After having a couple of days regarding, the bricks are set on edge to dry. The drying process will take from one to a month to fully cure based on climate conditions. Puddled adobes bring about bricks having a more individual shape, size and appear; no two bricks can be exactly the same.
